I didn't start Perfect, I just started
My story of how I started this journey and what inspired me to start BetterU Fitness.

If you are waiting to get confident before you start... I get it...
Because not long ago, I was you.
I was stuck in a cycle of trying, quitting, doubting myself, and repeating. I would go to bed with motivation and then wake up feeling overwhelmed and not knowing where to start. I tried getting help, but chose the wrong mentor. I was just trying to become the better version of myself, but was not succeeding because I was chasing perfection. Everywhere I looked, every place I seemed helped I could see perfect people, people with perfect bodies, with perfect lifestyles, perfect meals, perfect discipline.
But what no one talked about is how messy, emotional, confusing, and non linear the journey actually is. All the ups and downs, all the back and froths, I did not know how to push through, I did not even know that I had to push through to get to the other side.
From "all or nothing" to a little "better everyday"
I used to think that I had to be perfect. Tracked every macros, never miss a workout, and see the scale go down every week. I used to start my days weighing myself and the number on the scale used to determine how the rest of my day was going to be. When it wouldn't go down, I used to be so disappointed in myself, I felt like a failure.
When I started realizing that life is not all about being perfect and I need to have failures to know what not to do the next time, I started prioritizing progress over perfection. I started realizing that I was in competition with myself, and not any one else.
I didn't need to loose all the weight before I could take my health seriously,
I didn't have to be confident to start showing up for myself,
I didn't need to have a six pack to start helping others on their journey too.

Yes!- I am a coach
Yes!- I am still on my own fitness journey.
And that is exactly why I connect with my clients. I wished I had someone like me when I was starting my personal journey, someone who was going through the same journey as me, someone who would understand the struggle, someone who wouldn't judge me for my reasons, someone who would understand what it feels like to be ashamed and embarrassed about your own eating habits. May be then I wouldn't have been so miserable.
I don't just tell people what to do from the top of a mountain, I am walking the path with them- every single day.
I know how hard it is to keep going when the scale won't budge, I know how bad it feels to start over, I know how it feels to be bloated, tired and wonder- "Is this even working?"
But I also know the other side. The feeling when your clothes fit you better, when you notice that your strength is increasing, when you see your body is getting toned, when your mind set shifts from " I have to" to " I get to".
You don't have to be perfect to get started.
This journey is not about perfection- It's about choosing to become the BetterU, one step at a time.
You don't need to wait until Monday, you don't need to have it all figured out, you don't need to do it all alone. It's all about getting started and shifting your mindset and setting yourself up for success.
